Good sense must be expressed in three ways : in what we say, in what we feel, and what we do.It is shaped by cultural values; actions that are punishable or carry potentially harmful in one place may be of no consequence in another, The challenge lies in finding the right approach. Synonymous for good sense includes prudence, moderation and seriousness. Behaving in accordance with these qualities demonstrates sensibleness and helps uphold what is considered good conduct. Sensibleness implies clarity and the weighing of the minimums or maximums of what we desire or intend. It means avoiding excess, searching correction. The antonyms of sensibleness are foolishness, stupidity, absurdity and madness. Thus when someone tell you " be good sense " they are urging you to embody these qualities. Sensibleness is a blend of harmony and balance; its absence leads to discord bringing with it dangers and detrimental consequences depending on the situation. In a social context fraught with conflicts and problems, we must ask ourselves why we fail to see the consequences of certain approaches and objectives, ones that plunge us into a state of constant threat, driven by one cause or another. Where is the good sense of those who disturb the peace ? Where is the good sense of leaders whose decisions make things worse rather than better ? Where is the good sense of speculators and major corporations that drag a significant portion of the population into poverty ? If we have been endowed with intelligence, how is it possible not to distinguish the pros and cons of past and present actions, as well as the factors that trigger them.
